Helena M. Garcia

I am an early-career scientist studying the impacts of climate change and natural hazards, with a focus on how flooding and heat hazards affect people and communities. My work integrates environmental data, spatial analysis, and administrative records to identify patterns of exposure and to assess how these experiences shape migration, health outcomes, adaptation, and community resilience.
I am currently a postdoc in the Department of Geography at Dartmouth College. I earned my PhD in 2026 in the Environment, Ecology, and Energy Program (E3P) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
